The Team Behind This Skin Booster Guide

This guide is medically reviewed by Ke He, MD, head of skin and laser aesthetics, whose practice is the assessment that comes before any injectable. It is published within the four-physician Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, a tertiary general hospital, and it sits inside that department’s standards of assessment, consent and follow-up. The other three physicians are listed as the system behind that assessment rather than as injectors on this site.

Ke He (何锞)

Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending · Lead Physician of This Site

Injectable skin quality · assessment of the skin barrier · sequencing with devices

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service — and she is the lead physician of this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

Her assessment starts with the skin rather than the product: what the surface looks like under standardised photographs, which layer the complaint actually sits in, and whether the answer is an injection at all. Where the complaint is volume, laxity, pigment or a scar, she says so and refers on, because a course of boosters offered for a structural problem spends the patient’s time and leaves the complaint untouched. Where injection is right, she sets the intervals from how the skin responds at each review rather than from a fixed schedule, and she tells patients at the start that stopping is a legitimate decision rather than a failure.

Clinical focus

  • Assessment of skin quality before any injectable is proposed
  • Injectable skin-quality treatment and its course planning
  • Sequencing injections with laser and energy-device plans
  • Recognition and management of lumps, bruises and delayed reactions
  • Honest referral when the complaint is volume, laxity or pigment rather than quality

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Laser Medicine Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Facial Rejuvenation Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Plastic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Published 5 papers, holds 5 national patents, and introduced 2 new clinical techniques

How she frames the decision

A course of boosters is a decision about years, not about one appointment. If the schedule is not realistic, the treatment is not realistic, and it is better to say that before the first session than after the third.

Bring your calendar to the assessment

Arrange an assessment. We will set out how many sessions a course would involve and at what intervals, what hydration and surface quality can and cannot change, and what the alternatives are when the problem is shape rather than surface.
